KL Tower

Kuala Lumpur Tower In Malaysia

Hello to all my students, this is Cikgu James at Menara KL. Let me introduce a little bit  about this KL Tower to all of you so you will have some good info about the tower and later you can persuade your parents to bring you there during your next holiday. Have fun and enjoy your Chinese New Year holiday!

:) Majestically poised at a breathtaking height of 421 metres, the tower doubles as Kuala Lumpur best known ambassador. Standing boldly atop Bukit Nanas, Kuala Lumpur is the fourth tallest telecommunication tower in the world after CN tower in Toronto, Canada (553 metres), Ostankino Tower in Moscow, Russia (540 metres) and Orental Pearl Tower in Shanghai, China (468 metres). Built to improve the quality of telecommunication and broadcasting transmission, Menara Kuala Lumpur stands proudly as the symbol of Kuala Lumpur, ‘The Garden City Of Light’.

Menara Kuala Lumpur has a lot to offer from breathtaking views to top-class facilities, activities and events. It definitely has the right ingredients to please everyone. Came and see what life’s like at the top.

Detail Of The Tower: Menara Kuala Lumpur was completed in May 1996 and was open to the public on 23 July 1996. It was officially launched 1st October 1996, by Y.A. Bhg Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, former Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Stay Close To Nature: Surrounding the tower is the Bukit Nanas forest reserve an area of 9.37 hectares located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur City. It poses as the oldest gazetted forest reserve in the country. The nature surroundings of Bukit Nanas were cared for during the construction of Menara Kuala Lumpur to ensure balance in development and conservation of the environment. A 100-year-old Jelutong tree was preserved where a retaining wall was constructed at a cost RM430,000 to protect the tree.

Feel interesting? Go to the link now to have more details about KL Tower. See you there!

Merry Christmas At Langkawi

Celebrate Christmas with Cikgu James

To all my friends, colleagues and students:

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2009

See my holday’s photos at Langkawi Island:

Langkawi comprises a group of 99 tropical islands lying off the north-western coast of Peninsular Malaysia, about 30km from Kuala Perlis and 51km from Kuala Kedah on the mainland. The main island is popularly known as Pulau Langkawi. The islands are blessed with an intriguing heritage of fabulous myths and legends of ogres and gigantic birds, warrious and fairy princesses, battles and romance. As a natural paradise, the islands are perhaps unmatched anywhere else in Southeast Asia.

With a geological history dating back 500 million odd years, the island contains unique rock formations that stir the imagination and baffle the mind. Numerous caves, with their stunning stalactites and stalagmites, taunt the adventurous to unravel their ancient secrets. Fine beaches offer sun-filled days of complete relaxation. The clear emerald waters around the islands are perfect for a host of water spots and recreational activities. The enchanting marine life beneath the waters of Langkawi’s islands also beckon diving enthusiasts. The island in all of its exotic natural splendor, is also home to people renowned for their gentle smiles and warm hospitality.

MALACCA- World Heritage Site of UNESCO

Cikgu James Holdays In Malacca

My first encounter with the history of Malacca was in history class when I was still a kid. I remembered we even made a field trip to the city but I did not feel much about it at that time. I only began to take
the historical value of Malacca seriously after I have been to other countries and seen their rich culture.

Malacca has been listed as a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO since 7th July 2008. today, while the historical elements are well preserved, it is also a vibrant city full of energy and fascination. Centuries of
colonization by the Portuguese, Dutch and the British as well as development of Straits Chinese (Peranakan) culture have influenced the architecture of the town.

My favorite foods in Malacca (Melaka) are Baba Nyonya Asam Laksa and Curry Asam (One bowl cost you Rm3.50 or USD1).  These are the best food in Malacca. If you are new to Malacca, you better visit to Jalan Hang Tuah ‘Jonker Walk’ to taste it. Another one is ‘Chicken Rice Ball’ that looks like a ball which also taste good and special. You can try both! Happy visiting to Malaysia Year 2008/09. Happy holidays again to all my students and colleagues in SK Cator Avenue Ipoh.

Holidays In Cameron Highlands

My Hari Raya’s Holiday In Cameron Highlands

Cikgu James is celebrating Hari Raya’s holiday in Cameron Highlands. This is CikguJames sitting in front of one of the biggest tea farm in Cameron Highlands. Is it beautiful? Am I look smart and charming? I like the view here and the air also fresh and healthy. Hello my friends, please feel free to visit Cameron Highlands in Malaysia during your next holiday.

You can walk down to the tea farm to take some photos and have a close view in the park.

The whole view of the small town in Brinchang. And one of the oldest school in Cameron Highlands,
that is SMK Convent Cameron Highlands. I think it is more than 100 years already.

Everyone who visit Cameron Highlands sure will visit the farm park and buy the vegetables
and cactus because it is so fresh and cheap.

One of the oldest hotel in Cameron Highlands, The Smoke House. You can have a cup of tea here and
enjoy the beautiful view and romantic environment. I heard that if you want to have a dinner in this
hotel’s restaurant, you must first booking and the price for the food here is not cheap.

The photo on the right hand site is one of the Orang Asli’s House in Cameron Highlands, their houses are along the way back to KL. You can see them selling some vegetables and fruits in front of their house. Feel free to stop by and visit their house cause they are very friendly.
